What Do Students Love About Siebel?

Hi! My name is Jahzara Norris and I am a new member of the SCD Marketing team this semester. This week, I figured we’d switch things around a bit. We’ve talked a lot from the staff perspective here about why this building is the best. But what about the students? Of course, the staff love this place (we’re getting paid to be here after all), so what is it really about Siebel that makes it such a great building? To answer this question, I thought we should turn to the students who use the space every day.

Students from all across campus come to SCD to work, study, and attend events. Here’s what a few of them had to say…

 

I do come here pretty often because it’s a good place to work, it’s quiet and it’s not my apartment so I’m not so inclined to watch TV and I can actually lock in on my assignments. My favorite part about SCD is The Shop, the amount of resources they have for if you’re wanting to make something. It’s really useful.

I really like the vibe here. There’s whiteboards around, there’s tons of seats. A lot of the other places don’t have these amenities…you can really only come to Siebel.

I like that there is always something happening here. Whether it’s an event, people are building something in the shop, or simply groups of people are studying. It’s always a chill vibe.

Siebel Center for Design is home to many useful resources. The shop, giving students the freedom to express their creativity, the media studio, giving students access to quality audio, video, and photography equipment, and the many rooms open to RSO event booking. The building’s large windows not only let in plenty of sunlight, but they also beckon students eagerly through its doors.
